I run with neither speed nor grace, but I run. I AM a Road Hazard!
Steven once won a full expenses-paid trip to Italy to ride in a bike race because in his essay submission he spoke about riding - even over Vail pass - being less painful than watching his daughter endure chemotherapy. He rode for her and for all the other kids we have come to know.
And then he endured his own chemotherapy. And said to me so often during all his treatments -- if this is what we are doing to our kids, we have GOT to find a better way.
I run for him. Because running is less painful than watching your loved ones fight their cancers. And raising money to fund the research that is needed to create those "better ways" is far far far less painful than watching your loved ones die because there are no more options.
Please consider donating to me, or any other member of The Road Hazards... and or anyone at all running in this year's Petri Dash. And no matter what, thank you for helping me help MAF help our docs ACCELERATE the process of finding the cures.
